After the Christmas decorations are taken down and packed away, I like to leave the spaces bare and the surfaces empty for a while. The lack of adornment after the abundance of Christmas is quite soothing.
These images give me the same feeling.

Hi Sharon, beautiful images, so relaxing to look at.x
ReplyDeleteLovely images. The bath looks very inviting - could see myself in it with lots of bubbles and glass of bubbly! Ange
ReplyDeleteI agree...it is nice to have unclutter-ed-ness after the abundance of Christmas decorations. Thanks for sharing those serene photos with us.
ReplyDeleteOh, I feel it, girl. As I'm 'maturing' I have come to greatly appreciate the serenity and calm that is evoked in spaces like these. Thanks for the eye-candy! Hugs, Lisa
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon. Happy New Year to you and what a gorgeous post to start with! I am going to feel that calm for sure!!!

I'm swooning over these images and yes they make me feel calm. These are my kind of rooms, no clutter.

I know that feeling and I agree with you. And those images agree with me too ;-)
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love decorating before Christmas (I'm a minimalist so I don't drown the home in Christmas decor), I'm always a little relieved when I put it all back in a box. Tomorrow is the day when we put the stuff away. I'm not sure whether it's only Icelandic tradition or a Nordic one.
PS. I'm glad you liked my son's guest post. I think my interests have rubbed off on to him and the daughters too ;-)
I love this color palette, especially after Christmas. Thanks for sharing these gorgeous photos!

ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful Christmas and all the best to you and your family in this New Year!

this is so calming, the designer must have spent a long time thinking to himself keep calm and carry on the art.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way...
ReplyDeleteafter the fun and vibrancy of holiday decor, I just want to enjoy the bare spaces for awhile.. so nice to linger in uncluttered and calm space..

Lovely, soothing, clean spaces. I totally agree. After christmas some bare space is just what I need. Leahx
ReplyDeleteI so agree, Sharon and these are just fabulous images. I could just sink into every one of them. Have a great weekend. XO, Mona
ReplyDeleteI also agree. I cleaned up the day after Christmas. With my daughter getting married, Macy's has taken over my house! I just want everything put away..
ReplyDeleteSharon, I feel exactly the same way, and the gorgeous images are perfect. Love the simple, chic feel!!
