Don't label me...

....because I'm perfectly capable of labeling myself. I suffer from a moderate case of anal retentiveness. There... I said it! It's not something I am very proud of. I fact, I am definitely envious of people who have a more casual approach to the stuff of life. I wish I could just put something in a cupboard and be done with it, or, even better, just leave things lying around and not let them bother me. But I have a compelling need for order which means that the said item does not just get put in a cupboard or on a shelf, it gets placed in a container in the cupboard with other same or similar items and, more often than not, the container will have a label which categorizes the contents. So very sad, I know!

I said that I "suffer" from this condition, but the real suffering is probably done by my family. Exhibit A above - each child has their own basket for the various items that, in other homes, with better adjusted mothers, would just lie around.

Here are further examples of my love for labeling. I won't show you any more evidence from my own home lest you decide to have me committed. However,  when doing some research for my post, I noticed that I am not the only one with a love for labeling. There is a whole world full of people like me....take a look...

These pictures make my heart sing!

I am envious of those people who can just shove something in a cupboard without a second thought. But if you are one of those, don't feel too smug, because apparently the opposite of anal retentive is anal expulsive and that doesn't sound so great either.

Maybe I'll stick with my label!

If you are one of us, you might be in need of some storage containers or baskets....

I have everything I need except....

First let me say that this week has been a lot better than the last! When I looked back on that post, I decided I was a bit whingy! Apologies!

But I think whingeing might be my special skill (def: to complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner), because I have found something else to whinge about.... I don't own a French bed!

I have a perfectly fine bed, but it isn't a French bed!

I don't know why I feel the compelling need to go to sleep surrounded by French perfection? I think my husband should be relieved that it's not a Frenchman I am after, just a French bed!

I would love it to be upholstered in natural linen and it would need to be dressed in 1000 thread count bed linen to do justice to its beauty.

I'm sure that I would sleep a lot better  in such a bed, and then I would be a lot nicer to my children and husband and friends.....so really, it is in everyone's best interests.

So hopefully there will be French bed somewhere in my future.

But till then, I will be content with looking at these pictures.

And take comfort in the fact that if I am tired enough, I should be able to sleep anywhere!

I wish you a happy week ahead.

Till next time

Time Out

 http://savannahellis.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/456121279_640.jpg

I had such a great blog post planned for this week. I was going to wow you with my wit, delight you with my humour, impress you with my intellect and transport you with my visuals.... but you're just going to have to wait for another time, because I can't, for the life of me, remember what I was going to say.  (I'm sure it was going to be quite spectacular though!)

It has been a challenging week, to say the least. While battling a bout of persistent flu, I had to go to my aunt's funeral earlier in the week- so sad to see her husband and children so bereft, then yesterday had take a hasty trip to the hospital emergency after my oldest son suffered a severe allergic reaction to a bee sting which resulted in an overnight hospital stay, then later that day, my 13 year old closed his thumb in a car door, so now I'm feeling like a bit of time out is in order. Since the words seem to have left my brain, I will rely on these pictures to illustrate where I would like to be right now. Any of these will do.

But...life goes to go on....so I will see you in the traffic on Monday morning!
Have a good week. Mine can only be an improvement on the last one!

Till next time
