Serene and Subdued



After all the bright colours in my previous post, I thought something more subdued was appropriate for this one. The calm, after the storm, so to speak. I also got the feeling, from your comments, that many of you felt you could not really live with bright colours on a permanent basis. I feel happier being back in my comfort zone with the following pictures. They are all calm and peaceful spaces, with white, pale or neutral colour schemes. Yes, I feel more at home here. Do you?

Delectable Interiors

I was browsing the web looking for pictures of interiors featuring various shades of brown and beige. I found some lovely images and when I was thinking  about describing the colours used, words as mocha, vanilla, caramel, coffee, and chocolate came to mind. It then struck me that these were all edible in some way and I thought it would be fun to try and find some pictures of food and drink to match the interior pictures. Here is my attempt. Enjoy!

Pale and Interesting

It is a very grey, wet day in Cape Town. I spent the morning watching my boys play rugby in torrential rain and the rest of the weekend will be spent helping them study for the exams they write next week. I felt like my weekend needed a bit of a lift so I found these beautiful images to share. I love the pale and subdued colours and the interesting furnishings and accessories.
