After all the bright colours in my previous post, I thought something more subdued was appropriate for this one. The calm, after the storm, so to speak. I also got the feeling, from your comments, that many of you felt you could not really live with bright colours on a permanent basis. I feel happier being back in my comfort zone with the following pictures. They are all calm and peaceful spaces, with white, pale or neutral colour schemes. Yes, I feel more at home here. Do you?

Yes definitely more my thing then bright colors. Love all the calm, clean neutrals, rustic charm and quiet elegance. I could move right into any one of these spaces. Beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteAw, yes! Soft soothing neutrals. Mmmm, they make me smile. Especially love it when there is lots of texture in the room. The pops of color from the flowers in the first photo look really wonderful against the neutral background.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images....much more my style! My favourite would be No. 3. Those gorgeous windows & french doors, the light & space in the room, beautiful textures and a calming colour scheme.....divine! Closely followed by No. 9. That beautifully tufted wingback chair is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Kerry

Hi Sharon!
ReplyDeleteYou tell such nice visual stories!
We have recently completed painting two of the three floors in our home. When my husband and I were in the process of selecting paint colors he would say, Nantucket Grey...really? White again? What is oatmeal colored paint?
One night he came home from work and said,"I have to admit, I walk in the door and I feel calm! I gave him a VICTORY smile and a hug!
I also love your post about the clocks. It was as if you wrote it only for me!
Thanks for popping in to say hello!

I love the look of clean creams and whites, but they can often feel cold. These rooms however, still manage to convey warmth. Beautiful! Patti
