The Calm after the Storm

After the Christmas decorations are taken down and packed away, I like to leave the spaces bare and the surfaces empty for a while. The lack of adornment after the abundance of Christmas is quite soothing.

These images give me the same feeling.

  2. Lovely images. The bath looks very inviting - could see myself in it with lots of bubbles and glass of bubbly! Ange

  7. I know that feeling and I agree with you. And those images agree with me too ;-)

As much as I love decorating before Christmas (I'm a minimalist so I don't drown the home in Christmas decor), I'm always a little relieved when I put it all back in a box. Tomorrow is the day when we put the stuff away. I'm not sure whether it's only Icelandic tradition or a Nordic one.

PS. I'm glad you liked my son's guest post. I think my interests have rubbed off on to him and the daughters too ;-)

  14. I also agree. I cleaned up the day after Christmas. With my daughter getting married, Macy's has taken over my house! I just want everything put away..
