Monday Musings - In Love with Leather

Via

You know the type of leather I mean....old,  worn and weathered. A Chesterfield that looks like it might have stood in the library of a stately home for many years, or an armchair that survived for decades in a gentlemen's club. Feast your eyes on these beauties....

And my love of leather isn't limited to furniture. Boots and bags like these also ooze appeal!

And finally... I couldn't resist this picture of a gorgeous lab asleep on a leather sofa. How comfy does he look!

Wishing you a wonderful week.

Till next time.

  1. Love all those wonderful worn leather chairs. Glad to see someone else wrapped a throw around a chair cushion. That is what I had to do to the one in my sitting room. My dog finally wore a whole in the seat.

  3. Gorgeous pic's Sharon! I am with you, I love worn leather. I just picked up 6 dining chairs, original black/brown leather, large nail head trim from mid 19C.....the only thing is; I don't need them! Deciding what will stay, what will go. What to do??? ;)

  4. Oh my goodness!! How did you know that I was just googling for images just like these!! I've just got a new leather tufted sofa that is AMAZING!! It looks almost like a chesterfield... and I wanted to incorporate a lot of lighter tones with the darker brown sofa! Thanks so much for posting this today :)

  5. Wonderful! The only kind of leather to have!! I love that long-loved look. It reminds me of a story about Amelia Earhart sleeping in her new leather jacket night after night because she wanted it to look worn instead of uncreased and new. If I had new leather furniture I would probably rub and rub trying to get this beautiful time-worn look.

    Another great post!!

  6. My husband would love this post. We have a very old leather sofa (from his bachelor days) that he cannot part with, it would fit in well to these pictures. Now I learned to accept it but its very old, very worn and I guess now in fashion!

  8. Sharon! These are all so gorgeous.. particularly that first image!! I am a huge fan of leather. It's cozy and easy to clean. I also like the smell and texture of soft leather. This post is a keeper for future inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing!

Enjoy the start to a new week!

  11. Oh, Sharon,
This post makes me sad I got rid of my leather Morgan chair from Restoration Hardware...we had it placed near the fireplace and the leather split in so many places. But I noticed you showed us some images of furniture pieces that had wear and tear. Great post.

  12. My husband and I are home buddies and we always take time to relax and enjoy our pool especially when the grand kids are around. We also have family gatherings once a week so buying and having this furniture set in our pool side is perfect. We love that it looks good in our home and how it's very comfortable. And my husband who's more concerned into maintenance has no worries about this furniture set at all. It's all weather proof and very durable.
