My mother gave me this Queen Anne chair below about 15 years ago. It was upholstered in a tapestry fabric which, at the time, I thought was a bit frumpy. I daringly decided to have it reupholstered in this script fabric. My mother politely didn't say anything but I think she thought I had ruined the chair. Nowadays you see script fabric everywhere. I was clearly way ahead of my time! LOL.
15 years on and I still love the fabric. |
There wasn't a lot of choice then. Now you can find it in every style and colour.
Here are some lovely examples.

ReplyDeleteHey trendsetter! That fabric is beautiful. How many people can say they still love a fabric after 15 years?
ReplyDeleteYou just helped me make up my mind! I have two Louis XVI chairs that I am having reupholstered! This fabric will be perfect! Please see my last Craigslist Finds post and tell me what you think? I also would love suggestions on the finish for the wood!

Here's to being ahead of your time! If you go shopping and can't find what you want, you have to create it. It's sort of like the chicken and the egg - which comes first, the creativity that makes you ahead of your time, or does being ahead of your time make you have to be more creative? Whatever it is, it works. :)
