I have recently come across the work of Nathalie Vingot Mei, a French designer and decorator based in Aix en Provence. Her work has been published in a number of magazines including "Art and Decoration", "Australian Country Style" and "Marie-Claire Maison".
Her style is relaxed, yet with great attention to detail. Her understated interiors have a comfortable, lived in look rather than that contrived and 'decorated' look.
She uses vintage finds from flea markets and antique stores which gives her interiors an individuality that is so appealing.
A simple linen curtain is given a lift with a pretty border.
Her bedrooms are understated and romantic.
And here are some of her bathrooms which illustrate her style of simplicity balanced with touches of luxury.
I'd love to know what you think of her style
Till next time

She is particularly clever with her decor for children.

Gorgeous rooms! I love all the muted wood and paint tones. You're right it does look collected over time, rather than decorated. Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely French...
ReplyDeleteher style is classic comfort and love the obviously French touch.
Wow, so pretty and so French. I enjoy seeing the neutral palate done so well, even if I can't go quite that neutral in my own home. There is something very calming about the soft gray and white. Great introduction to such a talented designer.

my personal style is a bit more modern but I really like her work, it feels very homey
ReplyDeleteLove this simplistic & understated style.. So elegant with soothing colours & textures. I also love how the rooms are not over decorated. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a great weekend x Kerry
ReplyDeleteI like her style...we have been looking at buying property in France, weighing up the practical
ReplyDeleteside versus doable etc...when I see images and decor like this, my heart want's to jump in and just do it!...
and then I remember the pets that will have to stay home for so long at a time...the long flights,
But gosh to have a real French palette to work with....and try one's hand at this style...to have easy access to the finds...
Sure will be loads of fun! Thanx for sharing!

Wow....what beautiful rooms are on show here! I adore the French look! I am currently in the process of Painting Furniture using Annie Slone paints & having a room painted in Farrow & Ball's Pavilion Gray. One of my fave colours! I must follow your blog to watch for more delectable rooms! Thanks for sharing!
